Fall is a great time to pull out your crockpot and make some tasty dishes. This handy device allows you to spend less time in your kitchen, but still have a tasty meal to serve your family at the end of a busy day. The following recipes are perfect to make in the Fall months.

Sweet Potato And Apple Stew
This recipe is both sweet and savory all at the same time.

What You’ll Need:
-2 peeled apples, chopped
-½ large, diced onion
-1 lb.potatoes, chopped
-1 ½ lbs. sweet potatoes, chopped
-4 cups of chicken broth
-2 cloves crushed garlic
– 1 teaspoon salt
-4 tablespoons butter
-½ teaspoon pepper

To Make:
Put the apples, potatoes, garlic, onions, salt and pepper into the crockpot. Add the chicken broth. Cook on high for 4 ½ hours. Add the butter and stir before serving.

Beef Stew
Those looking for a crockpot meal to fill them up can’t go wrong with this dish.

You’ll Need:
-3 lbs. beef chuck, cut into pieces
-2 cups beef broth
-1 lb. carrots, slice
-1 small onion, diced
-8 oz. button mushrooms, sliced
-2 tsp. Dijon mustard
-1 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
-½ tsp. salt
-1 tsp. olive oil
-2 tbsp. cornstarch

To Make:
Put the olive oil into a saute pan and add the beef chuck. Brown each of the pieces and then put them into the crockpot. Place the onions into the saute pan and brown them. Add the broth and Dijon mustard and stir until blended. Add the mushrooms and carrots to the crockpot and pour the mixture, that’s in the saute pan overtop of the beef, mushroom and carrots. Sprinkle in the salt. Cook on low for 8 hours. In a bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water. Pour it into the crockpot and stir until it’s combined. Serve when ready to eat.

Apple Cider And Chicken Chili
This hearty dish will help you warm up after spending some time in the cooler Fall air.

You’ll Need:
-1 rotisserie chicken, shredded
-2 cans kidney beans
-1 cup apple cider vinegar
-1 stalk of celery, chopped
-1 yellow onion, diced
-1 ½ cups chicken stock
-1 apple
-1 tsp. chili powder
-1 tsp. salt
-½ tsp. pepper
-1 clove minced garlic
-½ tsp. paprika

To Make:
Put all of the ingredients into the crockpot, except for the apple. Stir and cook on high for 4 hours. Cut the apple in small pieces and sprinkle the pieces on top of the chili before serving.

Turkey And Stuffing
You don’t have to spend hours in the kitchen to enjoy a turkey dinner thanks to this crockpot recipe.

You’ll Need:
-1 large, boneless turkey breast, thawed
-1 package of stuffing, 12 oz.
-1 onion, chopped
-1 celery stalk, chopped
-1 cup chicken broth
-1 package turkey gravy mix
-1 cup dried cranberries
-3 tbsp. Butter
-½ tsp. Salt

To Make:
Melt the butter in a saute pan and add the chicken broth. Place the cranberries, stuffing mix, celery and onion into the crockpot. Pour the chicken broth and butter mixture on top and stir. Put the turkey breast in the crockpot. Sprinkle the pepper and salt on top of it. Cook on low for 5 hours. Put a meat thermometer into the turkey breast to make sure it’s at least 170 degrees. If it isn’t, continue to cook it and check it’s temperature every 45 minutes. Once it’s finished cooking, remove the turkey breast from the crockpot and set aside on a plate. Cook the gravy mix in a small pot, according to the directions on the package. Slice the chicken breast and serve with the stuffing. Pour the gravy over top.
