Cooking for Royalty, Giada De Laurentiis

Could you imagine cooking for royalty? A while back Giada was offered the chance to cook for a charity polo event. At the time she did she know that she’d be cooking for the newest and most famous newlyweds in the world. so, on July 9, 2011 Giada will cook for Prince William and the Dutchess Kate at The Foundation Polo Challenge in California, along with 2,500 other guests for this charity event. The charity match will be held at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club in Santa Barbara, California and Prince William himself will be playing. Giada De Laurentiis will be preparing lunch for all the guests. So what does the menu look like? Giada will make a royal lunch that includes: Pea Pesto Crostini, California Chopped Salad and Chicken Milanese With a Tomato Fennel Sauce.

  • A “light and colorful” pea pesto crostini, featuring pureed peas on toast, topped with half a cherry tomato each
  • California chopped salad with a mix of grilled lettuces, grilled corn, grilled shrimp, zucchini and crispy tortillas in a light lemon dressing
  • Chicken Milanese, which features breaded chicken cutlets in a creamy tomato fennel sauce
